From 1 July 2014 disciplinary hearings for serious misconduct will be open to the public. There will be a presumption that hearings will be in public and published decisions will include the teacher’s name unless the Tribunal orders otherwise.
Protections will be put in place to protect young people giving evidence and any child under 16 will also not be able to be named.
