Associate – Litigation/Family 4+ PQE - $115K plus KiwiSaver

What we will expect of you…
- Strong Litigation/Dispute Resolution experience with Family Court and District/High Court matters
- Demonstrated sound courtroom/advocacy experience.
- To be prepared to be accountable for consistent delivery of agreed inputs on average across very reasonable workdays in a flexible environment.
- Strong client service ethic…with full awareness that while a successful lawyer’s working life is not always 9-5 it can still be balanced well with life outside work.
- Well-organised, capable of managing all aspects of client relationships, effectiveness in using team resources, and turning quality work around promptly.

Growth of interesting work in our Litigation Team has created a vacancy for a qualified junior lawyer to work primarily in our Maori Legal Team.
We are looking for an applicant with strong verbal and written skills, an excellent academic record, and a focus on delivering clients a high level of service. Work includes:
- Considering evidence and drafting legal documents.
- Drafting and presenting legal submissions.
- Briefing and leading witnesses.
- Appearing before the Waitangi Tribunal.
- Working with government agencies.
As well as working on those specialist legal issues, part of the role will involve the successful applicant working on general litigation matters from the wide range of litigation work the firm undertakes as a result of a strong brand and excellent culture developed over many years of superb client service.
Remuneration will vary depending on your experience and demonstrated capabilities and we review at least annually based on performance.
