A teacher found in possession of methamphetamine has been censured and had her registration cancelled by the Teacher’s Disciplinary Tribunal.

The teacher was stopped while driving under the influence and the drugs and drug equipment were found at her home.

The teacher’s conviction was notified to the Tribunal after the teacher failed to notify that she had been convicted.

The teacher had given up teaching and had not sought to return to the classroom.

The Tribunal held that teachers have an obligation to model appropriate behavior.
