The Teachers’ Disciplinary Tribunal has deregistered a teacher for serious misconduct.

The teacher was found to have submitted work for moderation to the NZQA that were not the student’s actual work but rewritten by the teacher, lied to NZAQ about the reasons for missing parts of the work, and falsifying an appraisal of her teaching.

The teacher took no part in the disciplinary process so no mitigating factors were raised, leaving the Tribunal with little choice but to order deregistration.
