The Employment Relations Authority has upheld an employee’s personal grievance claim for unpaid wages.  He worked at a retail store for three years but was paid significantly less than the minimum wage.

The ERA ordered back pay of $83,054, holiday pay of $921 and compensation of $5,000.

Unfortunately, the company is no longer trading so the employee is unlikely to receive any payment.

If you are not being correctly paid you need to act quickly.  The longer you leave it the less likely you will be to recover what is owed.
