The District Court fined the employer $36,750 for breaching the Health and Safety in Employment Act, and ordered the employer to pay over $65,500 in reparations to the injured employee.
Employers are required to have appropriate procedures in place for the repair of company equipment, and these steps should be properly communicated to all employees.
