Teacher imprisoned after having sexual relations with students…

A teacher has been charged by the New Zealand Teachers Council Complaints Assessment Committee with serious misconduct. The teacher groomed and inappropriately kissed and touched children in his class. The teacher also sought to pay a student to perform sexual acts.

The Teachers Disciplinary Tribunal noted that the teacher had been charged in the District Court and sentenced to imprisonment.

The teacher agreed with the Tribunal’s decision that he be censured, and have his registration cancelled.
