A senior teacher has been censured by the Teachers Disciplinary Tribunal for sending sexually explicit texts to students who were staying in his home on an exchange programme.

The teacher tried to pass off the blame for his behavior to the students but the Tribunal said that sending such messages to any students and in particular ones who were staying in his home was clearly unacceptable.

The teacher had been dismissed from the school he was at when the texts were sent but the teacher’s record has been noted so future employers will be aware of the circumstances.
