Rainey Collins Chairman James Johnston addressed the annual Maori Legal Forum held at Te Papa recently on Structuring Post Settlement models for Governance, and in particular drew upon his extensive experience with Ngati Porou.   The presentation focused on Governance Best Practice and some of the unique variants relevant to Maori organisations, and those wishing to do business with Maori.

James was able to consider various legal frameworks and structures, and explain in a practical way some of the key issues and solutions.

With the permission of Ngati Porou Chairman Dr Apirana Mahuika, James was able to provide key examples based on the Ngati Porou experience which clearly showed how Ngati Porou has dealt with many of those issues.
