School safety & bullying seminar

Alan Knowsley (Litigation Partner and President of The Australia New Zealand Education Law Association) spoke recently at the ANZELA seminar in Wellington on safety in schools. The main focus of the seminar was dealing with bullying, and in particular cyber bullying.
Also presenting were Ben Mills from YouthLaw, and Douglas Harré from Netsafe. The seminar was chaired by Virginia Goldblatt, Director of Massey University’s Centre for Dispute Resolution.

The seminar, held at Rainey Collins’ offices, brought together school principals, teachers, academics, lawyers, school trustees and Ministry officials, to discuss ways of dealing with bullying.
