Rainey Collins Sponsors 2014 Ngati Porou “Pa Wars”

Rainey Collins was delighted to continue its annual sponsorship of events in the annual Ngati Porou inter-marae sports festival “Pa Wars” held on 3 January 2014.

The sports festival attracts thousands of Ngati Porou from the various Ngati Porou Marae each year and “is a celebration of tribal kinship within a fun atmosphere of friendly competition and healthy lifestyle”.

The festival comprises 23 events for marae teams of all ages to enter in and this year was hosted in typically hot weather again at Tokomaru Bay.

The events sponsored by Rainey Collins included the Team Parade (similar to the opening ceremony at the Olympics), the healthy Fun Walk for participants of all ages and the Junior Swimming Relay.
