Rainey Collins Partner and Chair of Te Awe Maori Business Network Peter Johnston was delighted to host Deputy Prime Minister Bill English at a post budget breakfast held in Wellington recently.

Peter spoke to the Deputy Prime Minister about the importance of these addresses for Maori in business and the tradition which had developed over the last 8 years.

Deputy Prime Minister Bill English praised the work of Te Awe and its role in connecting Maori in business.  He also spoke about the Government’s main priorities for this term. They include:

  • Responsibly managing its finances.
  • Building a more productive and competitive economy.
  • Delivering better public services.
  • Supporting the rebuilding of Christchurch.

The function was well supported with in excess of 100 Maori business leaders in attendance.
