Rainey Collins Partner Elected President of the NZ Chapter of ANZELA at 2008 AGM
Partner Alan Knowsley was elected President of the NZ Chapter of the Australia New Zealand Education Law Association (ANZELA) at the recent 2008 AGM held in conjunction with the annual conference. This year the conference was in Christchurch and was organised by the New Zealand committee. Next year it will be held in Melbourne.
ANZELA brings together members from throughout Australia and New Zealand including teachers, principals, lawyers, academics, Ministry of Education, Education Review Office, school trustees, school proprietors, universities and early education providers. The conference attracted attendees from all the Australian states plus, Singapore, Canada, the United States, South Africa and New Zealand.

Alan’s education law experience stems from his time as a University Law lecturer and includes acting for the Teacher Registration Board/Teachers Council, NZ School Trustees Association, several private and integrated schools, teachers, education funders and tertiary providers.
