Rainey Collins’ Chairman, James Johnston, addressed a gathering of nearly 200 invited guests to the recent launch of the fourth and final report from the New Zealand Law Foundation sponsored Human Genome Research Project.  The event, held at the Grand Hall at Parliament, was hosted by the Minister of Justice, the Honourable Simon Power.

According to Mr Johnston, the findings from the Human Genome Research Project were “ground breaking for New Zealand and potentially will touch the lives of every New Zealander”.

“The research is an important step towards ensuring New Zealand’s law is well-positioned to meet the legal and ethical challenges arising from gene biotechnology.”
