Personal Grievances’s can only be raised about something that has happened…
In a recent Employment Relations Authority case an employee was told the employer was considering dismissal for serious misconduct. The employee’s lawyer wrote giving notice of a personal grievance about the way he had been treated.
The employee was then dismissed.
The Authority held that no PG relating to the dismissal had been raised within 90 days of the dismissal occurring. The PG letter had predated the dismissal.
