Rainey Collins Partner Peter Johnston will be presenting at the upcoming Annual Māori Legal Forum to be held in Auckland on the review of Te Ture Whenua Māori (Land) Act 1993.

When dealing with owners of Māori land it is crucial that advisers have an understanding of Te Ture Whenua Māori (Land) Act 1993 and the practical implications of any changes highlighted in the review.

In particular, Peter’s presentation will cover the implications for those wishing to deal with or enter in to commercial arrangements with owners of Māori land.

The presentation is part of the Annual Māori Legal Forum and is designed to promote an understanding of treaty settlements, legal reform, and leadership for the Māori economy.

Other presenters at the forum will include Jamie Tuuta, CEO, Te Tumu Paeroa (The New Maori Trustee)  and Kirsti Luke, CEO, Tuhoe Te Uru Taumatua (Tuhoe Tribal Authority).
