Paid Parental Leave For Self-Employed
From 1 July 2006 self-employed parents are entitled to be paid by the government for parental leave. The maximum period is 14 weeks at a maximum rate of $372.12 before tax.
Self-employed parents must not work in their business other than occasional oversight or administrative tasks during their period of paid leave.
