Partner, Peter Johnston, was delighted to speak at the Te Awe Wellington Maori Business Network and Te Puni Kokiri Maori Business Showcase held in Wellington recently. The theme for the evening was connecting with Maori in Business.

The Maori Business Showcase brought together over 100 Members from Te Awe Wellington Maori Business Network and Te Puni Kokiri Business Facilitation Service. Peter as Chair of Te Awe Wellington Maori Business Network introduced Cabinet Minister the Hon Georgina Te Heuheu who spoke about the positive work being undertaken by Te Awe and the Business Facilitation Service.

Rainey Collins was one of the businesses showcased. Partners and staff were on hand to discuss issues of concern to other business owners and to advise on how the firm could assist them in their set up or day to day operations. Thus enabling them to have peace of mind and to concentrate on their core business functions.

Another highlight of the evening was the presentation of cheques by Hon Georgina Te Heuheu to the recipients of this year’s Te Awe Charity Golf Classic. The recipients who each received $5,050.00 were Wellington East Girls College and Tawa College Marae building projects. She acknowledged the efforts of Te Awe and Maori Business to support these colleges and their initiatives.
