Māori Business Budget Breakfast a success

Rainey Collins partners James and Peter Johnston recently attended the Te Awe Māori Business Budget breakfast hosted by TPK in Wellington.

The guest speakers were Deputy PM and Finance Minister Bill English and Minister of Māori Development Te Ururoa Flavell.

Both Ministers spoke about and provided unique insights into the government’s plans and reasons behind many of the budget decisions.

Minister Flavell also spoke about the new Bill in respect of Māori Land recently announced.

There was also a useful question and answer session which enabled a number of related issues to be discussed.

The event was well attended by Māori business leaders from not only throughout the region but elsewhere including Ngati Porou Runanga Chairman Selwyn Parata.
