The Rainey Collins Newsletters have been nominated for the People’s Choice award for best plain English document in the 2010 WriteMark Plain English Awards.

The Plain English Awards aim to:

  • Create a public preference for organisations that choose to communicate  in plain English.
  • Raise public awareness of the need for, and benefits of, plain English.
  • Improve government and business documents so that all New Zealanders can understand them.

Hon Christopher Finlayson — Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage; Minister for Treaty of Waitangi Negotiations; and Attorney-General — will host the 2010 Plain English Awards at Parliament on 3 September.
