Ex-employee’s moan leads to financial penalty…
The Employment Relations Authority has upheld an employer’s complaint of a breach of a settlement agreement. The agreement provided that, “…the employee undertakes not to undermine the Employer’s clients, staff or general business in any way…”
The employee at a function bad-mouthed the employer to two other staff. The ERA held this to be a breach of the settlement agreement and penalised the employee $1,500, and ordered him to comply with the agreement not to undermine the employer.
