Employee claim of unjustified disadvantage fails…
The Employment Relations Authority has rejected an employee’s claim that he was disadvantaged because he had no opportunity to comment on his proposed suspension.
The ERA found that the employer had instructed the employee to attend a meeting regarding suspension but the employee failed to attend and gave no reason beforehand for not attending.
The ERA held that the employee had been given a reasonable opportunity to respond to the proposed suspension but failed to take that opportunity.
