Camp Quality – Children Living with Cancer

Partner Alan Knowsley and his wife Linda were again volunteer staff on the recent Camp Quality week long camp for children living with cancer. The camp was held in Hastings and was attended by 70 children from 5-14years old from the lower North Island.

Each child was partnered for the week by a one on one volunteer companion. The highlight of the week was a visit by 4 Blackcaps (Jesse Ryder, Tim Southee, Corey Anderson and Adam Milne) who played sports games with the kids and signed shirts, caps etc The kids also enjoyed a beach day at Waimarama and a day at Splash Planet as well as crafts, a costume parade and a carnival day.

Many thanks to all those who supported the camp. The kids had a great time and were a wonderful inspiration to others on dealing with all the problems that life throws your way.
