Cultural redress is a vital part of negotiating an effective settlement of your claimant group’s historical Te Tiriti o Waitangi grievances.

Cultural redress involves Crown provision of redress which recognises your claimant group’s spiritual, cultural, historical or traditional associations with the natural environment, sites and areas within its rohe.

This redress is intended to meet the cultural rather than economic interests of the claimant group and as non-commercial redress, it does not count towards the monetary value of the settlement.
