Teacher keeps registration after falsely obtaining a benefit
The Teachers Disciplinary Tribunal has censured a teacher convicted of falsifying documents to obtain a benefit from Work and Income.
The teacher had pleaded guilty to the criminal charges and self-reported to the Education Council.
The Tribunal considered that there was a low chance of reoffending despite having no information on the reasons the teacher offended as she provided no explanation to the Court or Disciplinary Tribunal.
