A teacher has been charged with misconduct after she was found to have pushed a 3 year old child to the ground. The teacher pushed the child after she saw the child push another student whom she was helping.

The Teachers’ Disciplinary Tribunal censured the teacher and imposed a range of conditions on her practising certificate, including that she attend a professional development course.

The Tribunal took into account that it was a single push and neither child cried or received any injuries following the incident.
