School employee suffers spinal injury after tree removal accident
An employee was using a ladder to remove a branch from a dead tree on the school grounds. When the branch fell it knocked over the ladder causing the employee to fall and suffer a spinal injury.
The school should have ensured that only competent professionals carried out the tree work as the employee was not trained or qualified to do the work.
Reparation of $40,000 was ordered.
