Rainey Collins Lawyers is delighted to announce the appointment of Chairman and partner James Johnston as a Judge of the District Court.

According to Managing Partner Alan Knowsley, the firm has over its 98 year history been the source of a number of Judges in most of the divisions of the New Zealand judiciary.  "Judge Johnston's appointment continues the fine tradition of the firm in producing senior members of the profession who have then been appointed to the bench. In the past this has included former Solicitor General David Collins to the High Court and Sir Thaddeus McCarthy who ultimately became President of the Court of Appeal plus many others".

We are also pleased that Judge Johnston leaves the firm in such good heart and with a wonderful team to continue providing excellent service to our many and valued clients.

Rainey Collins takes this opportunity to wish Judge Johnston all the very best for his new role. He will be formally sworn in on 10 June and will be based in Wellington.
