The Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal has struck off a nurse for indecent assault on a patient in hospital.  The nurse was convicted in the District Court of two counts of indecent assault and the convictions were referred to the Disciplinary Tribunal by the Court.

The Tribunal had no difficulty finding that the nurse’s conduct adversely impacted on his fitness to practice as a nurse and they censured him and cancelled his registration.

It is understood that the nurse has left the country.
