A builder who falsely claimed to be a Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) has been penalised $13,200.

The builder carried out restricted building work on reinforcing steel and foundations when he was not an LBP or supervised by one.  He made multiple claims to his employer that he was an LBP and even put a false LBP number on the record of work.

His employer had to have the work done again by a properly licensed LBP.
