The Employment Relations Authority has fined an employer $20,000 for failing to provide written employment agreements to its 15 employees.

In addition the employer was fined a further $12,000 for other offences including not paying minimum wages, not paying correct holiday pay, not paying for public holidays, not having proper records and a further $8,000 for making unlawful deductions from wages.

In addition the employer had to pay all outstanding wages and back pay to its 15 employees.

Of the $40,000 in penalties $17,750 is to be paid to the employees as additional compensation.
