The Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal has struck a doctor off the Register of Medical Practitioners after he wrote prescriptions for painkillers for himself and for his wife on hospital letterhead but forged the names of other doctors as the prescriber of the medication.

Not only were the prescriptions fraudulent and forgeries but also the doctor should not have been prescribing for his wife and should have referred her to another practitioner.
