Senior Associate, Kirsten Ferguson, was interviewed on the popular “Home and Garden” show on Radio Live.  Radio host, Tony Murrell, and resident guest host, Hamish Dodd (Interior Designer) interviewed Kirsten about the processes and implications of canceling a building contract.

Kirsten discussed the processes available under the Construction Contracts Act 2015 and how a stand-alone building contract works in with those processes. She talked about protecting yourself by agreeing on an appropriate deposit up-front prior to the works commencing, and staggering milestone payments during the construction project. Kirsten also made it clear that it was crucial that a written building contract accurately records the parties’ expectations for the build, as a way to prevent potential disputes before they arise.
