The Teachers Disciplinary Tribunal has found a teacher guilty of serious misconduct after she was charged with 7 counts of shoplifting. The teacher took items of a minor nature on each occasion when she could well afford to pay for them. She self-reported her actions to the police. She had been under stress at her work at the time of the offending.

The Tribunal censured the teacher and imposed a condition that she have an approved mentor for 2 years.
