The Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal has found a nurse guilty of engaging in inappropriate sexual activity with a patient which amounted to professional misconduct.

The nurse was censured and suspended for 6 months and ordered to undergo ongoing mentoring (after they return to work) plus undergo further training on professional boundaries and ethics.

The nurse may only work for an employer approved by the Nursing Council for a period of 3 years and he must advise any employer during the 3 years of the Tribunal’s findings.
