The Teachers Disciplinary Tribunal has found a teacher guilty of misconduct for several incidents involving picking up, pushing and grabbing of children.

The Tribunal decided that the physical touching of the children was inappropriate and amounted to misconduct, but there was no intention to cause harm to any of the children and the teacher should have dealt with the incidents in a different (non-physical) way.

The Tribunal censured the teacher and ordered that he undergo mentoring for 12 months and provide a copy of the decision to any prospective employer for two years.
