Teacher censured after theft from employer...
A teacher has been found guilty of serious misconduct by the Teachers Disciplinary Tribunal for the theft of $5000 from her employer. The teacher kept all cash received by the Centre she was managing over a period of 8 months.
The teacher has since repaid the money in full and is obtaining help for her gambling addiction. She was censured by the Tribunal and is to inform any employer or prospective employer for 3 years of the Tribunal decision.
She is also banned from any position involving the handling of money or financial management for 3 years and is to enroll in gambling counselling for 18 months.
