Teacher struck off for inappropriate contact with a student…
The Teachers Disciplinary Tribunal has struck off a teacher who engaged in a wide range of inappropriate conduct towards a student.
He allowed the student to skip her other classes and hide out in his classroom, and vape in the classroom during lessons.
He also shared inappropriate (including sexualised) messages and photos with her on Instagram and other platforms and offered her alcohol when meeting up outside of the school.
He showed little insight into the seriousness of his behaviour and remained a risk to other students that left the Tribunal with no option but to cancel his registration in addition to a censure.
