The Employment Relationship Authority found that an employer company was liable to pay its employee following a personal grievance claim.  The employer ceased trading and failed to pay the employee.

The ERA made an order that the company pay the award and also made an order that the director of the company must personally pay funds to the company to enable it to meet its obligation to the employee.

Directors cannot hide behind a corporation if the company fails to pay its employee obligations and the ERA can make orders for the director to pay.
