The Teachers Disciplinary Tribunal has found a teacher guilty of multiple charges of serious misconduct for physical and verbal abuse of children and staff at an early childhood centre.

This included lifting a child by the arm and putting him down forcefully, telling a four year old she wanted to slap his face, telling a staff member she wanted to punch them in the face, locking children outside, yelling and shouting at children and staff and dragging a child by the arm.

The Tribunal removed the teacher’s registration, censured her and ordered her to pay costs.  The teacher sought for her name to be suppressed, but the Tribunal refused that request.
