Our Firm
Danyon Chong (He/Him)
Danyon is a senior solicitor in the Māori Issues team at Rainey Collins. He is involved in the firm’s Waitangi Tribunal and Māori land law work.
Originally from Malaysia, Danyon is passionate about showing hospitality towards his clients. He seeks to do so both through his friendly demeanour and ensuring that each client’s needs are well taken care of with clear practical advice.
He completed his LLB (Hons) and BA majoring in International Relations and Political Studies in 2018, and his LLM in 2019, both from the University of Auckland. He is also currently working towards a Bachelor of Theology at the University of Otago.
Outside of his legal work, Danyon is the pastor of Blueprint Church, an affirming, inclusive, and justice-oriented inner-city church for young adults.
He also hosts a podcast about the WNBA, and spends his remaining spare time reading books, playing a farming video game, and cooking overly-complicated dishes!
