A Body Corporate was seeking to recover levies from one of its unit owners. The unit owner had been withholding payment of the levies while a leak in the roof remained unfixed.

1 September 2011 marks the commencement of the “three strikes” law.
Telcos are now able to issue infringement notices for alleged copyright infringement through internet use (file sharing). This includes illegal downloads of film, music or written material.
The telcos may issue three warnings, which will then lead to a hearing before the Copyright Tribunal, and a fine of up to $15,000.
